Magna International Corrects Statement on Investments in Troy

In an email to Troy Chamber of Commerce officials on December 20th, Frank Ervin, manager of government affairs for Magna International, disclosed that executives from his company were "strongly recommending that Magna International no longer consider the City of Troy for future site considerations, expansions or new job creation" as a result of the transit center being voted down.

Both the Troy Patch and the Detroit News published articles on this disclosure.

Since that email communication was released, Magna International has issued this official statement:
Magna International wishes to clarify that the comments made by Mr. Frank Ervin, Magna’s Manager of Government Affairs, on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, in response to Troy City Council’s vote result regarding the future of its transportation center, was not an official statement from the company. The content of Mr.Ervin’s private e-mail to the Troy Chamber of Commerce was based on his personal reaction and does not represent the position of Magna International.
You can view the entire statement at the bottom of this post.

This was a wise decision by management at Magna International. Over the past two months, too many individuals and groups have been calling for boycotts that will only result in harming the interests of innocent parties in our community.

Thanks to Troy Councilman Dave Henderson for sending this Magna International communication to me.

  1. There are actually various letters the IRS will make use of to interact with a taxpayer a result of the millions owed to the Internal Revenue Service. It is vital that taxpayers obtaining correspondence via the Internal Revenue Service understand the notices they are receiving in order that they don't inadvertently make the problem more serious by not understanding how you can correspond with the IRS.  By not understanding what letter needs instant reply, Internal Revenue Service collections might start as a result of inability to adhere to the correct course of action. http://www.tax-defense-network-cpnotices.com/cp-notice/collection-process-notices/
