City staff has posted the video recording of the 11/20/18 Troy Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meeting to YouTube. At the bottom of this post is the video.

There was one item on the agenda. Action taken on that item is listed below.
3876 Fadi. "A variance to allow a proposed sunroom addition to the house to be 37 feet from the rear property line. The Zoning Ordinance requires the addition to be 45 feet from the rear property line."
The ZBA voted to approve the variance. I voted yes on the motion to approve the variance.
I received notice on 11/8/18 from Troy City staff that the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Adam Community Center against the City of Troy, the City of Troy Planning Commission, the City of Troy Zoning Board of Appeals; Daniel Agauas, Glen Clark, Thomas Desmond, David Eisenbacher, Orestis Kaltsounis, Padma Kupa, Dave Lambert, and James McCauley, individually and in their official capacities as Members of the Troy Zoning Board of Appeals.
"The lawsuit alleges that the City of Troy has purposefully and unconstitutionally attempted to keep a Muslim community from building a mosque within the city by unfair and illegal application of zoning ordinances."
Most recently, the Adam Community Center had a hearing in front of the Zoning Board of Appeals on 6/19/18. Since I was not in attendance at that meeting, I did not post information on it to this blog. But, since that June 2018 meeting is now the subject of a lawsuit, I'm posting the City's YouTube video below.
