Move Across Troy - January 2015 Update

Image via City of Troy
Here's the latest update on Move Across Troy.

As I previously posted, the City of Troy kicked off Move Across Troy by hosting the Big Beaver Pedestrian Symposium last fall. The symposium was a "focused effort to discuss pedestrian mobility barriers that exist on Big Beaver, between Adams and Dequindre Road, and explore future solutions." I attended the late afternoon session on October 1st.

On 1/12/15, the Troy City Council held a special study meeting for an update on the project.

Click here and here to read/print the documents that were presented at this special study meeting.

According to the draft meeting minutes, "Mayor Slater summarized that the directive from City Council is to keep moving forward with the proposed meetings and seeking funding." This is great news and I'm hopeful that this project will continue to move forward.

As an added bonus, City staff has posted the video recording of the 1/12/15 Troy City Council special study meeting to YouTube. At the bottom of this post is the video. (The meeting actually starts shortly after the 2 minute mark of the video.)

2015 Updates to Wilhelm Roepke Page

Photo via Front Porch Republic
As I've mentioned in the past, one of my favorite economists is the late Wilhelm Roepke. During research for my MA paper on Roepke, I created a page on this blog with several links to documents about and by Roepke.

Since that page was created 4 years ago, many of the links have been outdated. I've gone in and updated all of the links. Click here to open my updated Wilhelm Roepke page.

Lamberts 2014 Christmas Letter

Rather than a Christmas letter, the slideshow below captures some of the events in our family during 2014. Because our son Alex leads a more interesting life than the rest of us, you'll see more photos of him. Ah, the life of a high school student!
