City staff has posted the video recording of the 12/19/17 Troy Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meeting to YouTube. At the bottom of this post is the video.

Click here to download the entire Agenda Packet from the December 19th meeting.

There were four items on the agenda. Action taken on each item is listed below.
  • 2110 Chalgrove. "A variance from the requirement that additions to homes be set back 45 feet from the rear property line. The owner is proposing to add a fireplace to the rear deck resulting in a 43 foot rear setback."

The ZBA voted to deny the variance. I voted yes on the motion to deny the variance.

  • 1311 Maplelawn. "A variance to allow a proposed daycare to have the outdoor play area within the required front yard setback where the Zoning Ordinance requires the play area to be outside the front yard setback."

The ZBA voted to postpone action on this item to our next meeting.

  • 3445 Talbot. "In order to add a garage to the house, a variance to allow the addition to be set back 22.33 feet from the front property line. The Zoning Ordinance requires the addition to be set back 25 feet from the front property line."

The ZBA voted to approve the variance. I voted yes on the motion to approve the variance.

  • Vacant parcel adjacent to 660 E Long Lake. "In order to split a parcel of land into two parcels, a variance to allow one of the parcels to have less than the required 85 feet of frontage."

The ZBA voted to postpone action on this item to our next meeting.

I'm planning to attend at least one of the sessions. Posted below are a couple of social media posts that provide some additional background information.
