My son Alex and I started a new Thanksgiving tradition in 2011. That was running in the Detroit Turkey Trot. In fact, we ran in it for 4 straight years. This year we modified that tradition by running in the inaugural Troy
Mighty Gobbler 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk sponsored by Lutheran Church of the Master. (

This year, Mary Ellyn and Jill joined us by participating in the
1 Mile Run/Walk.

It was a well-run race and it was nice avoiding the traffic and the crowds that are part of the Detroit Turkey Trot. We're looking forward to participating next year.
