Good Luck to the Troy 2012 X-Country Competitors

Ryan Mooney from Troy Athens
As you may have observed, my newest hobby is running. Fortunately my son Alex has adopted Cross Country running as one of his sports at Troy Athens High School. Well, tomorrow (11/3/12) is the 2012 Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Cross Country championships for boys and girls at the Michigan International Speedway. While Alex won't be competing at the state level, one of his teammates will be. Good luck to Troy Athens X-Country runner Ryan Mooney at the 2012 state competition!

In addition to Ryan Mooney from Athens, both the boys and girls X-Country teams from Troy High School will be competing at the state meet. My understanding is that you can either qualify for the state meet as an individual or as a member of a team. Good luck to the boys and girls teams from Troy High School!

Click here for information on the MHSAA's coverage of the Cross Country races and the awards ceremonies. According to the MHSAA website, the morning session begins with racing at 10 am in Divisions 3 and 4; followed by the awards at about 12:30 pm. The afternoon session begins at about 1:30 pm in Divisions 1 and 2; with the awards at about 3:30 pm.

Below are a few photos of Troy High School X-Country runners from last week's regional meet from the Bloomfield-Bloomfield Hills Patch website.

11/19/12 UPDATE...
After the State meet, I read a Troy Times article about Warren De La Salle sophomore and Troy resident Mickey Davey who earned 2012 All-State honors in Cross Country. Congratulations! Read more about Mickey here and here.
