TRoy is going BACKWARDS,,,city has millions of TAX breaks 4 the super rich,,DDA,,un,need transit center,,Millions 4 a trash out k-mart building project,,and then Trashs us,,4 Not paying enough TAXes.
I think Marv rein has the right idea, why should the DDA get so much of the business tax dollars. I believe the city can decorate Big Beaver without the DDA getting so much tax dollars.
After reading the City Manager's Methodology and going down to Option 1, I was shocked to see the Library first on the list. If you would like my list, 1. talk to the police union and see if they would take a little cut in pay. 2. Do we need a Public Relations Committee as a full time position?? 3. Does the Museum need so many full time people? What happen to all of their volunteers? 4 The Library made you the proudest city by coming in first place and winning the biggest award this year and you suggest the Library first on this list. I would think again, since that is the place everyone comes to when looking for a job. In the papers and internet.
This was part of the City Manager's plan, "Seek employee concessions"
I suggest we seek some concessions from the City Manager himself. He can take a page out of Lee Iaccoca's book and take a $1 salary for the next 6 years instead of gouging our city for both a pension and a salary. Put that in your "Six Year Plan"
