May 2013 Joint Troy City Council and School Board Meeting

On May 28, 2013, the Troy School Board and Troy City Council held a joint meeting to discuss some of the issues facing the City and the School District. I believe the last time such a meeting was held was when I served on City Council (sometime around 2002 or 2003).

Unfortunately, there was only one member of the media in attendance to provide a report on the meeting. Thank you to the Troy-Somerset Gazette for covering the joint meeting. Click here to read their news article about the May 28th meeting.

While it doesn't appear that any actual business was conducted, there was a lot of good information provided at the meeting based upon my reading of the draft minutes and the Gazette article. Yes, citizens may have missed out by not attending. But, the Troy School District and the City of Troy missed out by not taping the meeting for later public viewing.
