2017 Troy Foundation For Educational Excellence Grant Reception

As a Trustee for the Troy Foundation For Educational Excellence (TFEE), I look forward to attending our annual reception which recognizes the recipients of our grants. Below I've posted some photos I took at last week's reception.


At the reception, we also recognize a school grant applicant as TFEE Innovator of the Year. Below I've embedded a Troy School District video that recognizes the 2017 honoree, Emily Freeman and Connected Classrooms, Engaged Learners.

Troy Zoning Board of Appeals - April 2017 Meeting Recap

City staff has posted the video recording of the 4/18/17 Troy Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meeting to YouTube. At the bottom of this post is the video. (The meeting actually starts shortly after the one minute mark of the video.)

There was one item on the agenda:

• A variance for 150 Florence (to enlarge a detached accessory building). The ZBA voted to approve the variance. I voted yes on the motion to approve the variance.

Peggy Grande's New Book on President Reagan

Thank you to the Troy Public Library for hosting Peggy Grande at their "An Evening with the Author" series on March 27. Grande, President Ronald Reagan’s executive assistant from 1989–1999, spoke on her new book The President Will See You Now: My Stories and Lessons from Ronald Reagan’s Final Years. Mary Ellyn and I appreciated the opportunity to hear Peggy's speech and also to purchase a copy of her book. Click here for more information on Peggy and her book.
