Troy Zoning Board of Appeals - May 2015 Meeting Recap

City staff has posted the video recording of the 5/19/15 Troy Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meeting to YouTube. At the bottom of this post is the video. (The meeting actually starts shortly after the 35 second mark of the video.)

Click here to download the entire Agenda Packet from the May 19th meeting.

There were two items on the agenda:
  1. A variance for 3151 Helena (in order to construct an addition to the home). The ZBA approved the variance. I voted "yes" to approve the variance.
  2. A variance for 2352 Lanergan (in order to construct an addition to the home). The ZBA approved the variance. I voted "yes" to approve the variance.
Also, congratulations to Glenn Clark and David Eisenbacher. The ZBA voted to re-elect Glenn as Chairman and David as Vice Chairman.

2015 Troy Foundation For Educational Excellence Innovator of the Year

Approximately a year ago, I was invited to apply for a Trustee position for the Troy Foundation For Educational Excellence (TFEE). Fortunately they accepted my application.

As stated on the TFEE website...
For more than 20 years, Troy Foundation For Educational Excellence has devoted its energy and funds to support the Troy School District. Funds raised through donations and fundraisers are used to enhance learning experiences through the use of innovative projects and activities that teachers host themselves.
Annually, we recognize a school grant applicant as TFEE Innovator of the Year. Below I've embedded a Troy School District video that recognizes the 2015 honoree, the Wass Canvas Night. Click here to read more about the Wass Canvas Night on the School Life Troy website.

Alex's Athens Theatre Company Finale

As I've previously written, our son Alex will soon be completing his high school years at Troy Athens. Last weekend's Athens Theatre Company's (ATC) production of Disney’s Cinderella KIDS marked another milestone in his Senior year. This marked the 5th production that Alex was involved in at Athens. This time he worked behind the scenes as a member of the tech crew.

Click on the links below to view the other ATC productions Alex participated in:
Here's Alex's performance biography that appeared in this year's show program booklet...
Alex is excited and a little sad to be in his 5th and final performance with the Athens Theatre Company. Alex has been in theatre since 6th grade. He has played a variety of roles including the Sheriff of Notingham in Robin Hood, Mr. Zuckerman in Charlotte’s Web, Billy in Tom Sawyer, the Butler in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat and Jesse Christian in The Present Passion. For the ATC he was in the chorus of The Little Shop of Horrors, a Shriner in Bye Bye Birdie, one of the Wickersham Brothers in Seussical and one of the guys in Emma. Alex likes to play piano, compose music, sing, run cross-country, and hang out with friends. He would like to thank Ms. Manfredi, Mr. Pitts, Gino, and Mrs. Laura, as well as all the actors and actresses over the last 4 years. He would also like to thank his Mom and Dad for all of their support through his theater career. So sit back, relax, and enjoy Athens Theatre Company’s Cinderella! Soli Deo Gloria.
Last but not least, below is the ATC Disney’s Cinderella KIDS advertisement we sponsored to recognize our son's work during the past four years...
