A Troy Profile in Courage

I recently came across copies of two emails on the Troy Residents Unified for a Strong Troy (TRUST) Facebook page. They are displayed at the bottom of this blog post. You can also view them by clicking here and here. They are copies of emails between Oakland County Commissioner Gosselin and Troy City Councilman Dave Henderson. They relate to the appointment of Dane Slater as Troy's Mayor following a November 2012 recall election.

According to TRUST, here's what Councilman Dave Henderson said...
“I am going to vote in favor of Dane for Mayor” because the best time to question the succession process would have been “before the election took place,” but “no one had any concern over this.” Councilman Henderson explains that his his goal is to avoid a “confusing and frustrating battle that end us all in unnecessary news press and or the courts if at all possible.”
Now, I don't always agree with either TRUST or Councilman Henderson. But, based upon his response, kudos to Councilman Dave Henderson for voting his conscience regardless of the political pressure he was under.
