As a result of redistricting, Troy and several surrounding communities were recently introduced to our new Congressman, Thad McCotter. Actually, McCotter is only new to our community. He's served in the US House since 2003.
In a surprise move today, McCotter abruptly resigned from Congress six months before his fifth term was to expire. Prior to today's announcement, McCotter had been disqualified from the August 7th primary ballot when it was discovered that his campaign failed to submit the necessary number of petition signatures.
