I've reluctantly decided to vote for Newt Gingrich in the 2012 Michigan GOP Presidential Primary. I'm not enthused about any of the candidates. I have some policy difference with each of them. I also dislike the negativity that seems to be the main feature of the current primary season. Whatever happened to "Reagan's 11th Commandment?"
I had given serious consideration to Rick Santorum but when I read this and this it confirmed in my mind that he lacks some common sense and he also fails to live up to the positive outlook exemplified by Ronald Reagan.
Except for a few issues (e.g, Life, Marriage), I don't expect my choice for President to agree with me on everything. I realize that politics is about the art of the compromise. When it comes to the General Election, I'll be casting my vote for the Republican nominee for President. However, this is a primary and I'm casting a protest vote for Newt.
